No Offence & I am not against this school but that is what the TRUTH is....
None taken at all, I'm just here looking for gouge and opinions. The big flight schools are looked down on by the majority on this board and PPRune.

If Loan then AEROSIM OR any such school will work..
About 50/50 I have some money set aside and I'll be taking a loan or scholarship for the rest.

[QUOTE=bcpilot;1036020]If my son or daughter or brother ever wanted to do flying, this is what I would recomend.......

1) DO NOT TAKE A LOAN.... or Take as little as possible.{/QUOTE]

Obviously this is incredibly good advice, debt is never good

I did this route for my initial fight training, I'm not impressed by the quality of instruction I receved. I want the best training I can get. I could not care less about the age of the aircraft or "steam guages." It's the best training I'm after.

Again, this is something to think about but not exactly the method I'm looking for. I like the structure of a school program

This is not an option, however I have unlimited access to a family members C-310 and Mooney Bravo to build time in, all I have to do is pay gas.

I'm really curious as to why to avoid a 141 school? My dad who is a 747-400 Capt and he said to only go to a 141 school.

The cost is a huge factor, but they have other programs that are not as expensive as well. I hope I'm not getting sucked into their good marketing but it looks promising to me at least. I've done the small FBO thing and I was not impressed with the quality of training or the consistancy. At 23 that is pretty impressive.

I feel the exact same way, the lowered mins with partner airlines and placement services ar HUGELY attractive to me, but again I dont know if they are $50k attractive.

Now, time for me to go study for that flight instructor written test!
Good luck!
I think this is the biggest factor, self motivation. I want to do it, it's the lifestyle I want. I think this is a good time to do it as well. I have some connections in the industry and I want to get out there as soon as I can. Thank you all for the responses. I'm still looking for someone who has been through the program and how they feel about it. Was it worth it?
