Here's a story I heard from a couple of pilots (slightly different). An Eastern crew was in Acapulco, Mexico waiting for their ship to come in from the States when Eastern ceased operations. They get a call from headquarters, "find your own way back, every one of our aircraf has been grounded". The Eastern captain takes the crew to the airport, goes to the AA gate, and asks for a jumpseat "for the entire crew". The ticket agent informs the AA captain of the unusual request. The AA Captain replies "put the entire crew on board, I know its a fairly full flight, but I want everyone on board, do whatever you need to do, not one of these crew members will/should pay for a ticket back home". The ticket agent replied, "si capitan". Every crew member got on board.
you know how pilot stories are, believe what you think its true. One pilot said it was AA, the other said it was TWA.
MAXJet, I fly for NJ. Great company, hope you get the call. Good luck
