but if you get a slingbox, that requires you to link up to someone's dish back home. so in your case, you'd have to convince a buddy to set up an extra receiver in the house only for you and perhaps pay him the monthly cost. and pray that both of you have decent internet connections, because certain places it gets really painful to try to watch a slingbox without it getting choppy or losing connection.

with all that being said, i still love my slingbox because it really is a great thing to have when local tv blows.
