Hey guys,

Question for anyone out there who knows about PRK laser eye surgery in Canada for pilots and Cat 1 license.

I received PRK surgery on February 26 and have 20/20 in both eyes and are stable.

Everyone is telling me something different about the policy on laser eye sugery. This is what TC states:

PHOTOREFRACTIVE KERATECTOMY (PRK) and LASER ASSISTED IN-SITU KERATOMEULESIS (LASIK)
  • Minimum intervals between withdrawal of eye drops after refractive surgery and medical certification for pre-operative refractive error of : Up to 6.00 Dioptres spherical equivalent:
    PRK - 3 months
    LASIK - 3 months
To me this means I have to wait 3 months after my last eye drop before I can pass a medical and start flying. WHich sucks because most PRK patients need drops for 6 months plus those 3 months is 9 months.

Anyone with this experience or know anything about this policy more please respond.

Thank you
