Lori, a few months ago i interviewed at a regional airline. I felt that the interview went well. I could not recall any major mistakes in the technical or sim evaluation. I did, however feel that i did not make a solid connection to my interviewers. A few days after the interview i received an e-mail stating something to the effect of after careful consideration, we have decided not to continue with the hiring process. We would like to call you back in 6 months for another interview.

So my questions are: Are they really going to call? And what does a letter like this tell you? Was i liked, but they felt i needed more experience etc? Or is this just a polite no? Thank you in advance for your time and expertise.
