They are already hassling me about not clearing my travel claim, even though they had it in their hot little hands the day after I returned...this has been business as usual since 1994. Whatver you want say about navy FTS...at least they are consistent.

When I did have a gov CC, I had to pay any interest accumulated while my travel claim was delayed...is this still the case?

I'm not sure about the paying of the interest. But I know that as of August of last year they would give you a government credit card for your travels that should cover pre-authorized expenses. Unless of course you were "surprise" deployed like me (IA'd) and they didn't get a chance to put you through for a card. Then you have to front all the expenses. I got paid back for everything, I just had to make sure I saved those reciepts in a safe place through my deployment so I would get reimbursed by my own unit when I returned. Still has not fun to pay all that up front. Most airlines waived the bag charges which made my life easier, only the one regional I had to fly with made me pay for all the bags upfront. 300 dollars, the price of putting a flack jacket and other gear onto a CRJ 200.
