When I did have a gov CC, I had to pay any interest accumulated while my travel claim was delayed...is this still the case?
They are actually CHARGE cards, not CREDIT cards. You are not supposed to leave a balance. All charges are due by the first billing cycle. BoA will work with units and individual card carriers to help defer the charges, but you can imagine how hard that is to do from a phone tent in Iraq

. Most claims are settled in time, but more than a few drag out for months. Servicemembers are required pay the balance in full regardless if they have been reimbersed by the gov't. I have seen many young (and not so young) Marines get busted for this. Just to give you an example of how bad it can get, it took me almost two YEARS to settle my last deployment travel claim, and I was once the squadron fiscal officer!
