While normally I would say that 4 sick calls in 15 months of employment is excessive, I also happen to work where you work and know that that is pretty light considering some of the people I know that work for good ole Uncle H. Granted, they are more for unforecast miscommutes than "scheduled miscommutes". Not trying to break your balls here, but if it worries you that much, get out of town and head to the Lou early. Try to pick up or trade a trip that starts earlier.
I know how much it sucks as I have been aroung for about a year and a half, but I also make the proper arrangements and as much as it sucks, if I gotta head out the day before to make sure that I get there, then that is what I have to do. I think the flack you are catching is because you are sitting there freaking out about it but not really doing anything about it. Again, not trying to bust your nuts, just sayin. Good luck with the commute, I head up there in the morning, maybe I'll see ya there.
