As a further update, I am still waiting for the woman to send me the information, so I cannot comment yet on its value or lack thereof. Don't forget to read through all the fine print before you sign anything. A bad scenario is for anyone to start training only to find out that there are no WIA funds after all.

It is correct that you should not apply for unemployment until after your furlough date. There is no way to speed things up and I would advise you not to try.
