[quote=USMCFLYR;456423]I understand your feelings for this - but get use to the idea of being held responsible for everything when you are the PIC. YOU are responsbile for whatever happens on that aircraft. I once got called on the carpet for my dash 4 blowing tires on the landing; I was the division lead. I was nearly taxiing off the runway by the time he landed. How was this my fault if I used the same reasoning that are are applying to your student. At least you were in the airplane with him! Imagine the ship's Captain who is relieved when his ship runs aground with qualified watchstanders at 0330 in the early am and he is fast asleep!
Sorry for the thread drift but felt that should be addressed if you are wanting to venture into professional aviation. Oh....and for the cargo or Part 121 guys out there - if this is not how it is in civvie flying then please let me know.
PIC is always responsible however the FO goes with the PIC for the rug dance/ck ride/violation, etc. The FO generally gets to kep the FO seat, the PIC may get to be an FO again.
