I think SWA may just prove everyone wrong that with smart scheduling, you can have LGA and no delays.
LGA today is a different animal than a year ago. Before, I can recall being 40 for takeoff and shutting down engines for an hour. With the reduction in flights, I haven't seen anything like that now. The farthest I've been in line for takeoff is #6.
It was worse pre March 2001. Not uncommon to time out on the taxi ways. After the "slottery" in March 01', LGA seemed like a ghost town many times during the day. It was a refreshing change to show for a 4 day trip and ACTUALLY fly the entire 4 day trip.
Wasn't that great for the paycheck though.
