Good points. I forgot to mention... THE ENTIRE COUNTRY IS NON-RADAR. ATC is absolute madness. Really. You will occassionally arrive over an airport in the Flight Levels because you could not get 2 way radio contact with the next FIR. Your RJ, like every airliner in Nigeria, has HF radios (great for BBC radio).

We tanker grotesque amounts of gas. Why? Unlike the comfy US, there's not an airport every 5 minutes of flying time. And sometimes the airport you go to doesn't have fuel.

TCAS is you friend. Pilots intentionally LIE about their positions to get to the runway first. It's difficult to understand the "aviation english". You pass ALL your basic flight plan info with every new facility.

Outside of Nigeria, we currently fly to Ghana and soon to Senegal (Dakar... about 1350nm) with the CRJ.
