Default Alpa age 60 survey

All Alpa members need to get on the website and let the union know what we think of the proposed changed to the rule. I know we had a national vote on this already, but they need more input. Everyone that wants the rule to remain the same needs to get on the website and take the survey......those that want to work until they die should go find a hobby.

I concur, every member needs to complete the survey, whatever your opinion is!

Realize that this is merely one last attempt to appease the memebership as a whole to see what the majority really wants. Things have changes since the last poll was taken. I hope everyone will support the Majority outcome whatever it may be............

Also realize, It really doesn't matter if ALPA's Changes it's stance or keeps it's current Official stance of "Opposed to any change". The train has already left the station ALPA cannot stop it. (Maybe they influence the speed at which it travels somewhat), but the change will happen anyway. It is just a matter of how long it is going to take. The Government seldom moves quickly, especially with a Presidential election coming.

The real hope for most of us is that ALPA will be able to influence some of the new rule wording and that ALPA can hopefully address and influence our serious concerns with respect to Medical and Pension issues. There will also be Scheduling issues and potential Training issues.

And just who th' H E double hocksticks is ALPA ? What book in the Bible you get that out of? Why not AOPA or the Teamsters Union? Why should ALPA have any more say than any other union?

I, for one, absolutely positively one hundred percent support manditory retirement at Age 60 - for everyone in ALPA that is

The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) is the largest airline pilot union in the world and represents 60,000 pilots who fly for 40 U.S. and Canadian airlines. Founded in 1931, the Association is chartered by the AFL-CIO and the Canadian Labour Congress. Known internationally as US-ALPA, it is a member of the International Federation of Air Line Pilot Associations.

What are double hocksticks?

It really wouldn't make much sense for ALPA members to tell AOPA what they think about the Age 60 Rule, now would it? Should ALPA members find a Teamsters union rep to express their opinion?

Which union do you think should have more of a say?

Are you pushing for AARP?

The Union of the Snake?
Union of Concerned Scientists?
Union of Soviet Socialist Republics?
The LGWU (Ladies Garment Workers Union)?

I don't know... seems to me that ALPA (the AIR LINE PILOT'S union) should be involved in changing the retirement age for AIR LINE PILOTS. SWAPA, IPA, APA, other independant unions can weigh in as well.

BTW, ATLlineholder... This is an internal ALPA poll. It doesn't effect you at all unless you are an ALPA member. Which seems kind of doubful.

Feel free to send in your thoughts to the FAA during the NPRM comment period. Hopefully they will be more coherent than what you posted here.

Default Poll is corrupt!

Since this poll uses a common password this poll is useless. One person can put in a whole bunch of alpa numbers and use the common password to skew the results. Devious you call me?, but don't think it won't happen by a fanatic for one side or the other. The poll needs to be behind your individual password to be legit.

Thats interesting, if you knew a whole bunch of people's alpa numbers you could do it Chicago style, vote early and vote often, of course ALPA's headquaters used to be on Cicero avenue across from Midway airport so maybe they learned well--but I do advocate everyone take the survey--hopefully it will show that the tide has turned decisively against age 60.

Any of the above unions would be suitable and I would have thought the "coherence" was in my disdain for ALPA. I never flew for Eastern, but if you didn't understand that much I'd be more than happy to introduce you to a couple hundred pilots who would love the chance to bend your ear for an hour or two about what ALPA did for them.
