Default Need Some Age 65 Info

The US is apparently going to align with ICAO. Are there any other countries that have not agreed with this change? In other words, after the change, is there anywhere that the over 60's will not be able to fly?

thanks

Well.................. currently at age 65 you can start collecting your social Security check.

You can also get a senior discout of 10% at Denny's or IHOP.

No, you have to be age 66 to collect a full Social Security check if you turn age 60 this year. In your case I guess it will be age 67.

Thanks for the correction.

Actually, unless we get a POTUS AND a majority in Congress who would act in the country's best interests to partially privatize SS I doubt I'll ever see that precious 'guvment check.

some attempts at humor there, so is it true that france will not allow US pilots over 60?

No, that is not true. France can set age 60 for French Airlines but has to accept the ICAO standard for other nations using their airspace just like the FAA did here. Actually France is part of the JAA which changed to age 65 a number of years ago but France refused the change. France was one of the JAA states that kept any airline Commander over age 59 from landing or oveflying their airspace. That also all changed for the French on November 23, 2006 with the ICAO change.

Isn't that age discrimination? How dare they!!!

You mean if you are over a certain age on a certain date, things work out different for you?

That has a familiar tone to it.

Maybe you should sue them.

It's funny how 60 is age discrimination but 65 is not..
