This just in from the Chairman of APAAD:

We have been notified that the President will sign HR 4343 tomorrow, Friday (time
unknown).

Anyone retiring on or after the day the bill is signed is IMMEDIATELY covered to
age 65.

The FAA has already served notice that they are ready to roll and that effective
with the President's signtature, the FAA will IMMEDIATELY annoint those 60 and
up as safe to fly.

There will be no transition time, no 30 day delay. The transition will be IMMEDIATE.

Glad you'll be so happy to work when you're wearing DEPENDS. I'll retire at 60 since that's when I'm SUPPOSED to retire. I'll be d@mned if I'm going to let this goverment work and tax me to death till the day I die. I guess you must not have much of a life to enjoy. Sad.............

I'd be gone tomorrow if I could, but at 49 I've got to put away for a few more years to make that happen, then I'll be on the beach in SXM enjoying life as the old crochety pilots fall asleep at the wheel and forget where they put everything........... I haven't seen much good happen to our profession under this current regime, and it's only going to get worse. My 401K is down 35% in the past three weeks, but hey, they keep telling me how great things are. What a joke. Fortunately my 401K will only be a supplement and not my livelihood. I for one, learned that anyone who doesn't put away for themselves isn't paying attention and has no one to blame but themselves. I guess the pilots that pushed for this law will be back to the crying board soon screaming that 65 is discriminatory too. Personally I think they need to look at this deep and hard and realize it's about nothing other than money....
