This evening shortly after 5:00PM President Bush signed legislation raising the retirement age to 65. It is a done deal!!!!!

I'm pretty sure I'm going to appreciate the extra 1 mil+ I'll make from 60 to 65. If I don't need it, I'll retire. It's nice to have the option though.

Are you a pilot or an FA? Working till the day you drop dead isn't my idea of "retirement". Why bother saving for a "retirement" if you'll never get to enjoy it..........

This is an awesome deal for those who are already captains. It screws everyone else.

Make that captains at a major.

That's what I meant. This screws RJ captains looking to head to a major.

it screws us future pilots too... what the heck are we supposed to do? sit here and twiddle our thumbs for 5 years?.. if the bill HAD to pass, they should have phased it in or something, not just BAM 60 to 65 all at once.

That's what I figured. Just clarifying for those who might not get the big picture.

Yep, it is a bad deal for every single pilot from now until the end of time, other than for those who are already captains at a major.
