Default guarenteed hours question
I know each airline has different contracts and have different guarenteed flight hours per month. Is is better to have say 81 hours per month guarenteed or would it be better to say have 65 hours per month but, paying overtime for hours over 65 hours ?? just curious to how it works or if one is looked as better than the other

Most airlines don't pay overtime if you go over guarentee. You just have a bigger paycheck. This of course, varies by airline/contract/etc but you're typically just going to credit more time. The primary purpose of a guarnentee is to protect reserve pilots who may only fly 20 hours in a month.
