I havn't done a walk-around in a few years and am going on the 75. I use to carry a "3Dcell" mag light, to reach the tail on the 8.... but with the new technology.........what's the best high-power, compact light to see everything....and still fit in your flight bag. (in addition to the required (2Dcell) one)????
Thanks!!
You are in luck because LED flashlights have really improved in the last few years. If you want to keep it under $100 then try an INOVA T2, T3, or T4 flashlight. I have one of these for night walkarounds, and I recommend them for the price. They are bright as heck, they use lithium batteries which are far better than alkalines for reliability, and LEDS are of course almost indestructible.
If you want to drop more than a bill and get a lifetime-quality piece of equipment, go to Surefire and look at their stuff. They are the cream of the creme in flashlights and I have several. Here's a really nice one:
If you go with the Mag, then shell out the extra few bucks and get the LED version.
[EDIT] CR123 lithium batteries can be had for around a buck a battery so be careful where you buy them. I always go to Amazon dot com and surf up the best deal. A lithium CR123 is a lithium CR123 is a lithium CR123... go for the cheapest price and do not look at the label. Walgreens and your local grocery store will have them for something like $6-12 a pop. John Q. Public has no idea what they are worth.

Waaay too much time on the internet while unemployed
Ditto on Surefires, military issue and good, spendy though if Uncle Sam ain't providing them. D cell Mag-lights-, good for bonking perps on the head I guess.
But hey, check this, If you're like me, and have absolutely no spare dough, maybe try this out? I do not vouch for the accuracy or validity of the following video. I may try it out though, if I ever get off APCF.
Thanks for the input guys!!......it got me started in the right direction. After a few hours of research, I pulled the trigger on this one. Cost was a factor and it still has all the features The reviews were all very good too.
The Fenix is a competitor to INOVA so you made a good choice. Lithium is the best battery, bar none. I also agree it is not worth it for walkarounds to buy a top quality Surefire flashlight. There is a high likelihood you will misplace, lose it, or have it stolen in a few years. The only weakness of these flashlights (Fenix, INOVA) is the beam quality is a little uneven, no big deal. They work well and last a long time.
The 757 comes with re-chargeable flashlights installed in the aircraft. They have red flashing lights so you can find them in the dark. They work like a champ too.

Haven't lost my neon yellow Surefire yet. It lights up T-tails of Arrows & 727s and can serve as a landing light depending on the size of the aircraft and amount of speed tape you have aboard. It's great for stopping TSA or illegals in their tracks, especially when they're snooping around your airplane at night.
I do not recommend the Glock sound effect add-on unless you have a real one at the ready, are prepared for the consequences, and are dealing with illegals, not TSA or law enforcement types.
