AA newhires said they're enjoying training ("everyone's been great") but there's a lot of material. But it's still training. Ten to 13 days of GS, 8 sims and two checks. It comes fast. Zero to hero in 5 weeks.
It's not the stress of UPT/SUPT but it's not as casual as RTU/RAG either. It's a big boy school- "here's the books. We'll go over them. You'll be busy. Put the time in." Guys realize it's important and put the time in (wake up to bedtime).
Like meyers said, do what's asked and you'll do fine.

Just curious how that works? When it comes time to bid equipment, are they separated? Do the AA/US pilots have to bid their respective companies bases and equip? Say a pilot hired on the US side lives in MIA, could they bid the 76 in MIA on the AA side?

There is no cross bidding. The Airways new hires in class are being separated from the AA new hires today to bid for aircraft and base assignments. This combines class is just to get the new hires at Airways familiar with the AA side of things. The airways new hires leave tomorrow to go home and resume their Indoc in PHX starting June 9.
