Online invite to "the call" can be as quick as one month.
Perhaps another 1.5 months to start of class???

We’re going to lose a lot of really good pilots if we don't streamline this process. I would have been just under 5 months from video to indoc it I had waited for the AA class. Hell, I received the video invite 1 month before getting the call from US and by the time I arrived in Dallas I had interviewed, been hired and given a class date at US. If I had waited for AA I would have lost over 2 month seniority (5/12 US, 7/15 AA) which would've been around 150 numbers. Yes a drop in the drum when apart of a 14,000+ pilot list but you never know what the future holds or where the dust will settle.

We also need to increase 1st year pay! I know of 3 who finished OE and left for DL (2) and UA (1). DL I can understand but UA…. they can’t figure out their head from their ass. The only reason the one went to UA was because he was in a serious financial strain at $40/hr and needed the extra cash for his kids (one with Autism) so it’s completely understandable. Poor guy, he really didn't want to leave but just couldn't make it work.

We need to increase first year and get a contract that isn't bottom of the industry. It sickens me we're a legacy that's the largest airline in the world who's as profitable as DL and we have one of if not THE worse contract in America.........

There was a class 8/12. I see 9/23 is posted. Was there one in between or have they only been running 1 a month?

My timeline has been off compared to some others. Wondering if I need to cxl vacation plans now, and when the next class might be.

How long is the standard training footprint? do they slow down in December? Ive made it back through page 200 on this thread. Didnt see pertinent info.

Thanks

I was also just under 5 months from video interview to class date. While waiting, I was offered a class date with another carrier and chose to go there instead of AA.

I hear you and agree with your points as well as many others do as well. APA has approached mngmt on DAL pay parity starting Jan 2015 instead of 2016 now AND this will get starting pay to $68/hour. I am optimistic it will pass. But yes, starting pay HAS to increase from the current $40 or we will lose a lot of the most qualified potential candidates to our competition. Be patient, change is coming. Pair up DALDAL pay, and some better soft work rules , and our incredible attrition and we with be among (if not the) the most desired carrier to work at. We are just a little behind right now (due to our late merger compared to the others) but the gap is closing.

8/12 8/26 9/9 9/23 ... Rumor is every two weeks for the foreseeable future too. But that is just the rumor mill.

Training on the bus was a little under a month, plus 3 days worth of distance learning before you show up. I think the other fleets are about the same length, mayne a few extra days for international. Not sure about a slow down in December, standby.
