An educated guess: The A350 and the LAA widebody orders were made based on stand-alone business and fleet plans. Now that we're a combined entity, they don't need that much growth all at once. It would hurt the company financially to absorb widebody purchases that outpace their international growth/replacement plans...ie, airplanes sitting on the ledger that cost $ but without enough flying to properly utilize them.
Better to have them delayed than cancelled. We'll get those airplanes on property, but as others have stated throughout these threads, mergers rarely produce immediate growth. There's almost always some contracting to be done.

There aren't just 'some holes,' from what I have investigated, the entire thing is a black hole. There are third-party programs available, but I haven't gone through them yet, but plan to in the near future. Unfortunately (and thankfully), this affects a small minority of people it's not high on the APA list.
