DCA and MIA updates are much better. Parker wants peace, the pilot group needs to lead the fight. We stand up and the rest will follow. The money is there, unlike what the bed wetting crowd wants you to believe.

I can't wait to join the ranks of all the US Air pilots before me who just said NO. It seems to have worked out so far.

Have you guys seen the routes that the EMB-170s and CRJ-900s are doing?
Those airplanes are NOT feeding mainline. They are flying regular hub and spoke routes.
Giving an ounce on scope is nuts.
The revenue generated by an extra 5 seats would more than offset the extra pay that having the aircraft on a mainline certificate would offer. If they aren't using the airplane to its capacity at a regional, bring it to mainline and put 81 seats on it.
Above ALL else, I would never vote to give ANY in scope. You aren't gaining anything by doing so, even if it looks like it on paper.
A moot point because it was taken off the table! Hopefully by the time the contract comes up for renewal, they'll be a lot of 6-10 year regional guys here who know how important scope is. I'm also very happy the APA knows how dangerous letting it go is.

The question is what are the positions of the majority of reps ?
I'd think most haven't made up their mind yet and are waiting to see what the final choice IS. It's too bad this rep sent this message. I'm not going to vilify a rep if they look at the final product before choosing to accept, but to make this blanket capitulatory blast prior to even knowing the products to weigh is misguided. He's not an experienced rep and he's done some questionable things in the past regarding representations he's made to the membership, so he may still be a minority opinion.
If you read the APA update of yesterday, you can see they are managing expectations too. I can see the President and VP feeling like this rep does and perhaps he picked up their vibe and ran with it ? The other reps (a possible majority) might not be so ready to collapse like Hooper.
I'm sure there is division in the BOD.

This ORD rep is simply managing the expectations of his pilots. At some point, "negotiations" will have extracted as much "value" as APA will get and then the BOD will have to vote to accept or reject. This rep is basically telling his pilots in advance that he's going to vote for whatever the remainder of this process produces as opposed to rejecting it and triggering the arbitration process.

And what could possibly be the reason to tell everyone how tough it is to be a rep in an impossible situation? Please don't be mad at me and fire me. We are doing the best we can and it is really tough.
Why didn't the other ORD rep sign his name to that white flag? Jerry Glass is already winning.. another white flag along with the VP... the house is divided against itself.
$4B and we are arguing over the value of concessions...

In this industry pilots very rarely ever say NO... the American pilots said NO during bankruptcy... it worked out damn good for them.. they kept their pension among other things.. in bankruptcy..
The fact is the pay rates minus the concessions are a net loss to many, and a net gain to others. Jerry Glass has divided the house well, even now to the point that people think his name is funny.
