Future Cocktail Parties!
I'm reading the posts where one or two of you guys are planning exciting trips to the realtor's in your new Polaris, and thinking this will make for interesting times at block parties, and cocktail parties in neighborhoods with several pilots.
Year 1: AMR pilot tells double-breasted DAL and UAL neighbors to [****] it, cause payrates are 7% higher. Receives good-natured pat on back. No one utters the words "profit-sharing"
Year 2: "AND we got rid of Horton". No one mentions duty-rigs.
Year 3: "Don't forget that SOB Horton. We sure got rid of him". No one mentions Parker.
Year 4: "[expletive] Horton's gone, man. We sure got rid of him!". Embarassed silence.
Year 5: "Did I mention Horton? We got rid of that guy!" Someone mumbles "and you got nice double-breasted jackets!". Pandemonium ensues.
Enjoy the Polarii!

So you locked yourself into an arbitration hearing, but wisely set-up an upside protection for 2016. UAL and DAL did this via the PS. Now you coughed it up, and locked yourself in for a long-term deal that cannot possibly raise the bar. While working for the world's number one airline, and a cash-generating, powerhouse of a network. With oil <$50.
Then you have guys bragging about a Polaris and a deer lease, and guys high-fiving each other over payrates. I'm trying to imagine how good that's going to feel, in years 2, 3, 4, and 5.

We might have an inferiority complex, possibly, I don't know. I was just coming at this from the perspective of wishing you success. It's not altruism: it's business. I don't think there is a pilot in the industry that wasn't hoping for you to really set a marker with your contract.

Parker and Glass could make monkeys out of Delta pilots just as easily as they made monkeys out of AA pilots. That's the reality of it.

I'm a DL guy and have nothing but empathy for my AA friends. I constantly root for everyone in this industry to raise the bar so we can all do the same.
You idiots can keep taking pot shots at each other, while I'm going to wish you all the best.
Try not to paint ALL DL pilots with a wide brush. There are many of us here rooting for you guys.
