Default 401K

Heard that year 1 employees no longer get 401k matching from the company.

Is this correct?

This is correct, PSA, Piedmont and new hires do not get the 16% for the first year. This became effective November 1 and it does not matter if you are placed on the LAA or LUS side. Envoy flows get it because they keep their company date of hire from Envoy and that's what the 401k contribution is based off of. PSA and Piedmont keep their date of hire for travel purposes which really only credits toward retiree travel.

An Envoy pilot hired in 2008 for example flows to mainline and gets to keep their date of hire?

Not for bidding purposes, only "company" DOH for things like vacation accrual, etc.

Where is this written? Is that a new contract thing that was voted on? Was this sent out via company email? Only reason I ask is I'm a new hire and we were told the opposite of this. Haven't seen the proof yet in the form of money but just seems strange that they'd say one thing and it's completely different. Thanks in advance

It was told to us in indoc and confirmed by APA at the welcome dinner. I haven't seen it in writing but they said it became effective November 1 when the AA pilot 401k went into effect. Maybe different if you were in before November.

Man that is totally a 180 from what they told us who were the 1nov class both at indoc and the APA dinner. Have a call in with APA and they are going to call me back. Not that I don't believe you guys but would love to hear it from the horses mouth.

Ya know, cause first year pilots at AA don't need no stinking retirement...
