Quick update for those who are curious as to how quickly things are moving- hired April 2014, finished training July. initially assigned Mia 73d, did that for 3 months before getting lax 73d. I live in San Diego so that's awesome and I just got awarded San Diego long call reserve first time out. All things I thought would take me years to do only took 3 months...so far so good!

1.) What percentage of the America West/PHX crowd is SoCal commuters just waiting to "come home"? And for that matter, how many PSA commuters are left?
2.) According to the current contract or what's coming down the pike, do senior pilots have the right to bump or displace junior pilots out of a category?
3.) Might the fabled growth at LAX be able to accommodate all of us who'd like to be there?

Surprise -
1 - I'd be surprised if anyone has the real numbers. And some guys would continue to commute if it means they're more senior vs. 'coming home' to a senior base(LAX) and having to work holidays, poor vacation bidding, etc.
And the SOC and SLI has to be completed before guys can switch 'airlines'. How that will work out is a huge unknown which will impact how guys bid post SLI.
2 - No. Senior guys can only come into the base when there are openings OR if they get displaced from their current bid status(like JFK 767D which was shrinking).
3 - How much growth will there be and how many guys want to bid LAX? Since both are unknown the answer is impossible to predict.
