New Hire Details
Hi guys. I am excited to be joining the AA team starting late January. I was hoping to get just a few questions answered...
1. Are uniforms provided or will I have to pay for them?
2. Does the wifey come to Dallas for part of orientation too? If yes, what is the purpose?
3. Does pay start pretty much right away? Guarantee of 70 right?
4. When do you find out equipment and base?
Thanks for the info and I am looking forward to getting started!

Hi, and welcome to AA!! Despite some shortcomings and a few whiners... it's a great gig. I too was strictly civilian, so congrats .to answer your questions as best I recall ...
Uniforms are provided
2 pants
6 shirts
Jacket
Winter jacket
Tie epaulets (sp)?
Hat
Pay starts day one
Wife comes to town for a dinner and usually the company overview and benefits enrollment
Bases and equip are usually day 2-3... Scott Hansen gets up and has the list on the board , and everyone picks based on age. I would let him know what you want, where you live, and if possible he will work with you.
Hope that helps, it's been a long time for me
Joe

Indoc is two weeks. Tuesday-Saturday.
Break is measured in days to 3-4 (+/-) weeks.
Each vacancy that is on the board has start dates (if it hasn't changed). Oldest picks what he wants, youngest gets what is left.
^^^ Mention to Scott if you, or others, would prefer another LGA/MIA/PHL/DCA or 737 vs AB slot. Sometimes he has a bit of flexibility in the training slots, often he doesn't.
Congratulations.

Pay is 73 hrs.
As soon as you get your assignment you can apply/bid (we call it preference) for the base/equipment you'd prefer. Bid/preference run is done monthly. Currently bidding for March openings. New hires have gotten new bases(same equipment) before they've finished aircraft training.
