I'm kinda partial to the CRJ200 flight deck since I've spent so much time training in it this summer. I really like the layout of the Airbus A320 too. It looks comfortable, roomy, and well organized.

Anything that pays the bills and then a little extra! Shouldn't be too choosey... that leads to SJS! LOL...

Apparently my message was too short to enter. These words should fix that.

I got a look a the Global Express cockpit once. Very nice some beautiful avioics. That would be my favorite so far. I like the ERJ but, from what some jumpseaters that fly the "older steam gauge type aircraft" tell me its a little busy for there liking. The airbus I imagine is the most comfortable with no yoke in your way at all.

The bus sidestick is nice & out of the way, but some like a big yoke to hang on to. Personally, I love having a tray table and not having to do gyrations to get seated around the yoke.
The CRJ is a nice bird but long in the tooth for avionics and missing the joys of autothrust. It does have a very logical overhead, just like the bus.
Even the bus is old school in the avionics (and don't get me started on it's crazy FMS) when compared to the Gulfstream 450/550 planeview system.

But the G birds look like a 737-200 in the overhead and are really old school in systems management. Got smoke in the cabin? Get out of your seat, march thru the smoke to hit the rear cargo door seal deflate valve conveniently located on the baggage compartment door!
I'd love to get my hands on the new Falcon 7X to see if it was as modern as the CRJ/Bus in the overhead and if the Easy avionics setup was really the same as the Gstream planeview. If it is what the hype suggests it will be a sweet bird.

Scarebus ::shudders::
I LOVED Flying (and preferred) the ERJ, but the CRJ flight deck is a bit more of what a Jet should look like though, IMHO...

L1011. Now that's a man's cockpit/airplane! Steam gages but very ergonomic.:D

Now of course, ANY widebody flight deck is going to take the cake ;-)

Since this is a regional board, the DASH 8's cockpit was designed with the pilot in mind. Although slow and landed like a Ford F-150, it was a well designed aircraft.

My bad. in that case i'd have to go with the CRJ-700/900

Deez,
The Lockheed was a beautiful jet, with an enomorous cockpit. For its' time-the early 70s- it had a wonderful autoflight system with true autoland capabilities.
Like Delta, we had them at TWA. Very fast, sexy, and when those RB211s started, the triple spools had a distinctive tone to them.
Unfortunately, with all the smoke that came out of them, they'd have to change the ATIS because the field would go IMC.

The new E-jets have a nice modern, user friendly look to them. I'd say the 787 and the new A350 are probably going to set new standards as far as flightdecks are concerned.

I have flown the CASA 212, ATR, EMB 145, CRJ 700, B737, and the A320. I definetly like the A320 cockput the best. Very roomy

The Fokker F-28. Steam powered gauges. Separate captain and FO throttles, so none of this hand holding crap setting the power. Roomy and big. I miss that ole Jurassic Jet.

:)I’m partial to the C-130E. It has got two bunks right behind the co-pilot.

True story, that way you don't have to fight over a bunk with the Nav!

yea, i never got to fly it. but it was my favorite. it was very senior at Delta. We still have a sim and i get to play with that every now and then. I love the twin elevators down to the galley (with a kitchen to make any restaurant proud) and the thumb role trim wheels on the yoke.:D I was born much to late. as far as fast, i was jump seating (in the best jumpseat view in all of aviation) and we were level cruising at .89.
