I interviewed Aug 9 and got a class date of Aug 27. I'm in no matter what, but do any of you XJT people have an idea what the hiring forecast is for the near future?

Last mgmt number was, 24 a month to CAL and 19 a month going to other airlines/jobs. That will go up more once NWA, UAL, DAL get up and running full speed. not to mention the other carriers hiring. I heard ABX is going to hire soon also. good luck

Ok, I have alot of friends at expressjet and I really want to work for them. I'm coming up on my multi time really quick and should be at the 100 hr mark by the end the month. How long does it take to get an interview? Should I apply now, at 30 hours?

Apply when you get 100.0 hours multi-engine.
You will most likely get an interview e-mail very shortly after that (a week or two at most).

It took me about 10 days to get an invitation for an interview.

They're almost not.
If you were a January new hire you would be a 30-40% FO today at LAX.

can anyone tell me, if they care what type of multi time a person has. for example i dont have my MEI, so if i was to go and be a safety pilot or something like that on a multi, and get up to my 100multi, would the company really care??? would they call me if i have the 600/100???

Damn I hope that's even close to being reality by the time I finish training. My parents live 10 miles from ONT. They're in their 70s, and it would be great to get to see them a little more often- PLUS I wouldn't need a crashpad, I could get a ride and a place to stay with good ol' mom and dad. :D

As a capt i sat reserve 1 month in ONT and held a relief line after that. I have friends who just finished new hire training and are going to LA and they said they are holding lines right away. Good luck.

XJT has probably hired 140 pilots since then.
You might want to submit an update.

I was out of the game for 2 years, got recurrent, had a friend take my resume to the EWR CP. Nothing from XJT. They wanted 100 hours in the last 6 months and were sticking to it.

HR was having problems with the online application software. Log back in and re-apply immediately! I had applied , heard nothing for a few months, I logged back in to my "profile" and it said I was dequalified. I re-applied and got the email a week later inviting me to interview.

Every month they change the job listing number, you need to reapply EVERY time it changes (usually once a month), they will not contact you from an old job listing...

I applied on 6/28/07, and didn't hear anything for 5 weeks. I resubmitted under a whole new profile (new email address, etc.) and heard back within 5 days. 800/200, no turbine. Resubmit, and I'm sure you'll hear something.

yeah the 100 hours in 6 months thing is pretty big but if you havent been flying at least 100 hours in 6 months then do you really feel like your ready to pass a 121 training program? go fly a 152 around to get the 100 if your not rusty but 100 in 6 months is nothing. you should be instrument current and proficient... makes training that much easier.

Do they still require some actual instrument??

OK, I'll stick around a little longer next time. I thought you'd be home all the time now.

Uh Oh...a disgruntled Captain got your ear. (I am willing to bet SWA, FDX and UPS dont' want him! :) ) XJT has lost a few contracts with other companies for a few reasons. One has been that they aren't the cheapest. The boys running XJT know what is going on. You can rest assured that the new ventures are beginning with positives on the cash side immediately. The one exception is the branded flying. Lots of start up cash required but I think over time you will see a nice profit from that as well.

Thats kinda what I figured, almost everyone else seems happy there.
