I decided not to get too specific on how to get it, in case there were some super computer hackers on here. But, its in RADAR.
Your old simple 6 digit NWA number is on the left. Your new, <cough> DAL number/passport is on the right.
Hey, DAL guys (excuse me). Hey, old Delta guys, what's with all the zeros at the beginning and the end?
Do you drop the mention of them (The zeros) when you are:
1. Telling the gate agent what your employee number is?
2. Typing employee numbers into ACARS
3. Signing in on the hotel sheet.
I could go on but, I think you get my drift. :D

Yes. We only use the long one for log ins to DeltaNet, and Travelnet
We do not use it day to day.
Good guess on when to use it.

I was told in INDOC that some computer systems require a 9 digit login for security reasons. Thus the zeros. Easier to remember and manage than other numbers.

What exactly is RADAR? Is that like our DeltaNet or eCrew?

Yeah, RADAR is NWA's version of Deltanet (or was).

Well, now, --back in my day, at the good 'ole Delta, they didn't have all them zee-ruz on yer emploYEE number, an' they didn't have none a them fancy comm-pyuters neither. An' if'n a man wanted ta' take a trip on an airliner, why he jes' picked up the telly-fone and made him what they call a REServation. Then when he showed up at the airport, they giv'em a gen-u-wine airline ticket, with purdy pitchures on it, an' stuff.

Delta pilots are to get new numbers too, an effort to "rebrand the package" and avoid the sophomoric crap that has happened at other mergers, (Republic-Northwest). Then old DAL pilots will have numbers that begin after the "old NWA Delta pilot numbers. Who cares? Its too many friggin digits to me.

You only use the 6 digits for everything except DeltaNet and Travelnet.
The first 0 is there for future expansion if and when we get to that number of employees systemwide. The last two 0s are used to differentiate between mainline and DCI. Mainline is 00, ASA is 70, etc. (I don't know what the actual #s are for the other DCIs.)
In TravelNet, it goes even further. The employee would be PNR 00, your spouse/companion rider 01, children 02, 03 etc. So it would look like:
0XXXXXX00-00 for you, spouse is 0XXXXXX00-01
An ASA employee looks like this: 0XXXXXX70-00 etc.

Do not forget about Employee Self Serve. If I remember don't you need that to log in to Self Serve for your Health Care enrollment?

Each Delta subsidiary has it's own code for PPR's. Comair's is 60xxxxx00-00, DCA's is 64xxxx000-00. The first two digits signify the susbsidiary.

I thought the 7's were the ASA numbers.
So when does everyone get new numbers?
