The words were "to discuss the remaining issue". NOWHERE in the email from the MEC did it say we are sentenced to continue in negotiations. A decision has not been publicly made (nor has the company or union been given a decision as far as I know). It would only make sense to have both parties there for such a decision. Ironically the director on the NMB was out on vacation until yesterday..... Many are ready to STFD (I am right there with you), but the process needs to work -regardless of how politically flawed-. The company is running out of time for the BS strategy of dragging feet, we are playing the game professionally and by the book, in the end we will win the battle.
Patience.....
Sorry dude, i normally agree with you but not here, all thats going to happen is the company is going to come and inch a little closer on dual qual to show that they are bargaining in good faith but they will still disagree on the major part of it. The NMB will probably then put us on ice for 6 months. The Company has a timeline and they know what they can or can't do and unfortunately our plan of playing by the book is not working.

When are you going to realize YOU (pilots) are NOT in control. The company drives the ship during section 6 and when THEY are ready, they will negotiate in good faith for a meaningful outcome. When Mesaba had the legal right to strike and the company was totally shut down it was only then did they bargain seriously. More was completed in those 48 hours than the entire previous 3 years of talks. I still believe holding the line professionally, with integrity and by the law is the only way to go.

That NMB lady that I read about in the ALPA magazine looked very nice though. I'm sure she will help both sides in the end.

The acronym you refer to stands for St. Thomas Fire Department(STFD), but I can understand how someone not on the inside of the Pinnacle workforce would confuse the two. If we don't get a contract, then we are moving to the Caymans, drinking beer and fighting no fires.

good ole BOHICA dates back to the 80's when my old man worked for Pinnacle, formerly Republic Express, prior to Express 1. There is a guy on our company message board with a hat for his avatar with the acronym STFD and he got it while on vacation down there.

Some see the acronym to contain profanity if different words are used in the acronym, for that reason lets keep the "war cry" off the thread and everyone is happy. We all know that 99% voted to shut the place down! I'm right there with the 99%......

I can assure you that on the Union side there is a strong desire for a release. Enough is enough with being in limbo. It's time for 29 days of poker.

That term has been used in the Navy at least as far back as Vietnam.
