Is it possible to jumpseat on era? I'm looking at a dash flight from anchorage to kodiak in July, and am wondering if this is a possibility. Do they only honor reciprocals, or is it pretty laid back? My company does not have a reciprocal with them but is in cass.

They seem pretty laid back. Met the C.P. at Flight Saftey a year ago and have jumped from SEA to ANC with a few ERA FO's. Your best bet would be to just call their Ops.

Should be no problem as long as you're CASS. I caught a ride from ANC to FAI about 1.5 years ago and sat in the back. Everyone there was very nice and helpful, from the ticket counter agents to the crews.

I heard they are generally pretty cool unless your company competes with them . . .

Ace Air does a early AM mail run and there part of CASS.

Things have changed at Era in the last few months (even more so than since Frontier bought them in 2009), don't plan on getting a ride unless you have a reciprocal at this point, still worth a try, but it's a much longer shot than it was previously. Also, all the nice Era employees have mostly replaced with Frontier ones (though there are still a few Era people) in the Anchorage station, so how nice the CSA is going to be the luck of the draw.

Any news of hiring? I may be looking for a job soon.

Frontier/Era/Arctic Circle = None, Frontier is supposedly going away anyway and they're long on pilots in the other two.

Hageland's (read: Tweto's) = Here and there for the last few years, AFAIK they've run about 4 or 5 classes in the last 2 years.
