Life Inc. - Warning: Unemployment can be a killer (http://lifeinc.today.com/_news/2011/04/12/6453040-warning-unemployment-can-be-a-killer)-

What I found interesting is one of the people who commented at the end of the article, a Doug Beever, who posted that at 38, he was laid off from Eastern.

As a legal aid lawyer whose practice is mostly unemployment law, I can attest to the negative impact of unemployment on both men and women. It does seem to strike men (older men) particularly hard. The prehearing conferences with men usually lasted twice as long as with women. I found myself serving as their social worker and mental health worker more than as their lawyer. Fortunately, I have not had anyone commit suicide or something like that.

So how does an article like that help someone like me who is unemployed (FT anyway)?
Something else to be worried about which will lead to hyperchondriasis(sp) which will lead to worrying to death.
