Does anyone here have any knowledge/experience with Wisconsin Aviation out of MSN/RYV? I rented there a few times back in the day, and its seems like a place where people enjoy their jobs, but I'd greatly appreciate any insights into pilot pay, QOL, schedules, advancement, etc.

Yes thats the one. I too would steer clear. Here is an example...A long time ago when I worked line at an airport in Northern WI , one of their pilots comes taxiing up and de-planes his pax on a typical day charter. Airplane was a Piper twin (aztec I think) anywho, the pilot asks "you guys have maintainence",,,,,,"yes sir" I answer back. I get a mechanic and the pilot reports "the yoke is binding when I pull it back" ...."when I pull all the way back to my chest the radio stack moves in the panel"

The mechanic get the old girl apart and the avionic and radio trays are all zip-tied together into place! When you pulled back the yoke it would rub on one of the stacks and bind to the piont one of the trays corners had broke loose! Wouldnt believe it if I didnt see it with my own two eyes..

This was in 1995 or 1996, so a while ago, things maybe different now, but I have another story from 2004 that made me shake my head too.

I worked line at RYV for a year, did my primary there, and frequent their FBO at msn.

I have nothing but good things to say about their MX and Avionics shop at either field as a former employee, renter, and aircraft owner.

As an employee- it was a good work environment with good people. It is a well managed, stable operation. The flight schools have shrunk in recent years to two and a half instructors each. I'm not sure how busy the charter schedule currently is.
