Had another great experience with the folks (Sebastian and Iris) at MMSL. If you're planning a trip to MMSD and want to avoid crowds, the MMSL crew is very professional and take pride in providing a good entry-exit experience.

Only place i've been to that gives you gifts upon arrival (plane-side). They even take photos of your arrival, prints the pics, and give them to you upon departure.

Also, they have a "no tipping" policy with their service people. Ask for Sebastian Romo as he practically runs the whole airport.

That right there would be enough to never use the place.

We used to take our Falcon in there and it was fine for a smaller aircraft. However, they don't have a lav cart and there are a few other minor issues for larger airplanes. Nothing like a dirty lav sitting in the Cabo heat for a few days.

Is the road to the main highway completed yet?

Lav cart is listed on the left side of their website. I thought i saw someone with a lav cart, so perhaps it was added recently.

That old dirt road is now paved 95% so the drive time is much shorter.

Yes, the photos were a surprise the first time we went to MMSL but they are taken only by the airport manager and the whole place is very secure. He takes pride in his photos and prints small and large copies to give to pax and crew. Not appropriate for all flights but it was well received by us.

We went through MMSL earlier this year and also had a great experience (we were parked next to a Falcon 900, Challenger 604 and a BBJ).

Sebastian explained to us that he owns/operates the airport. He gave us a tour and is very proud of the upgrades to the facility. His wife, Iria, oversees the "handling." The employees are professional and the service is the best I can remember; not just for Mexico, but anywhere. They have preferential rates at many hotels and have offered to make reservations for us even on our trips to MMSD.

The main road is much improved (for Mexico). You can get to the Cabo marina in 10-15 minutes.

They have a control tower, crash/fire/rescue, plenty of fuel and, yes, a lav cart. :)
Sebastian takes the pictures himself. We appreciated his gifts.

Well that's nice they finally got a lav cart. We used to throw a guy $20 to get under our Falcon with a garbage can and let gravity work. Not very fun on a windy day.
