I am wondering how many corporate departments are operating both fixed and rotor wing and allow their pilots to fly both platforms?
Thanks,
Drew

We have both and have two who fly a jet and the S-76. There are no plans to increase that number.

They dont?...
Many of the larger departments in major metro areas (like NYC) have both, and most I know have some (if not the majority) crosstrained in both jets/rotary.

I teach CRM to several departments that have both and find that most do not cross train the pilots or they have allowed currency to lapse on one with no plans to renew. Interestingly enough, some departments will divide the two groups for CRM/human factors training. I've also noticed a trend of only allowing pilots to fly one type of fixed wing, even with a mixed fleet. These are larger departments, in the order of Fortune 100 and above.
