I had an interview 10months ago with a charter company and did not get the job due to multi PIC time being too low. They wanted an immediate captain at the time. They called me to interview for another position 2 weeks ago and once again it went well. After not getting the job the first time I am alittle pessimistic this time. Since they invited me back again, do you think my chances are good? its for a jet fo position

Its been two weeks. Give them a call. Follow up. It will show interest and also put your mind at ease.

If they called you to interview a second time, then yeah, I'd say your chances are decent...especially if it was a cold-call based on your first interview and not an updated resume.

they were def interested in you or they wouldn't have called you. been 2 weeks you say, definitely call them. what I suspect is that they are either not quite ready to pull the trigger yet to hire or, they have an offer out to another candidate. call him. 2 weeks is more than enuf time. From my interview to my offer was 6 weeks, when I was specifically told I'd "hear something next week". I know guys that had multi-MONTH interview processes for their jobs. Bottom line is sometimes folks get busy, shiat happens, balls get dropped, and stuff is forgotten. There may be another offer that was extended and they are waiting to hear back, or they haven't gotten around to a "thanks but no thanks" notification...but there also may be more important things they are dealing with right now than extending an offer.

If the OP reaches out to them, I'd highly recommend it only be thanking them again for their time consideration of him to fill the position, and reiterating the desire to work for their organization.

This comes across as MUCH less pushy and impatient as any variation of "Hey I'm just curious why I haven't heard anything yet", while putting you back in the front of their minds.

I agree with Boiler here...not sure how big the company the OP is dealing with but unless it's a big company then you're dealing with CPs and DOs who have a laundry list of other fires to put out....FAA visits, audit company tracking, trip issues, flying a few trips, so sometimes bringing that next guy on takes a back burner. Odds look really good that you're competitive for the job. If they brought you back for a second interview for a different position odds are they liked something in you and how you'd fit in at the company. If not why bother bringing you in again? A phone call thanking for the interview, reiterating your desire to work for them, and offering to assist in any way with additional info is a good way to positively bring yourself back to the front of their memories.

Is it for a certain food company who used to have their name on the side of a football stadium? I'm from the area, not interested in an FO position, but wondering where it was at?

I've got my eye on a place a hundred or so miles down I-90..

They didn't forget about you....places get busy and decisions/discussions get pushed off due to trips, vacations etc.

The hiring process can take a few months, easily. You may have been the first of 5 people coming through. Ever try and line up 5 pilots for interviews? Its a nightmare between everyone who wants/needs to participate schedule.

Did they not give you an idea of when the next step may/may not take place? If no, that would seem sorta odd to me...I always left candidates with "It may take us 3-4 weeks to make decisions but you will cartainly hear from us either way" and always called them personally.

Anyhow, my .02 is to relax and wait to hear from them. The fact that they called you back is a very good sign. They like you. I say the job is yours....:)

To the OP: So...... what happened? Enquiring mimes want to know.

I called them 1 week ago and they said no decisions made yet. They only interviewed 2 others and want a few more and then do second interviews. I asked if there is anything else I can do and he said thay called me after 10 months for a second interview so just hang tight as these things take time.
