Does anyone know of some good, less expensive ATP courses? I had heard a lot of guys were going somewhere in Colorado, but I cannot remember the name of the place. Thanks for the help.

Just the ATP, been in the right seat 121 for 4.5 years and don't see an upgrade in my immediate future so I want to get it on my own and be ready.

I just recently went to AllATPs in LAS - would recommend it, highly. If you already have the written done, it would be a little cheaper. On AllATPs website, some locations have sales making the price a little better to swallow. I did the written and the practical, and it's done in three days, otherwise, it can be done in two.

If you want it done CHEAP, there's an outfit called Multi-Engine Training out of Arlington here in DFW, the planes are ugly, but it's a flat fee for all the flying you need to meet the standards, (and they beat ATP by several hundred bucks).

Are the examiners on site there? Did you do it there?

They have a DE that they "use", he's not part of the organization, but he does their rides. I've heard good things. Anyone who's ever done any multi rating in the DFW area has gone through them.. It's usually referred to as "clyde's place". Has an excellent rep around the area.

Ah, good old Clyde's! I did my multi commercial there in '07. No complaints, they get you done quick and cheap. Glad to hear they're still around... I actually liked those old Travel Airs!

How much is their flat-rate ATP?
I have the flight time and the written already.
Don't think Eagle will be paying for mine any time soon.
Thanks

Since you can jumpseat, you may want to check the prices at Fulton Aviation in Atlanta at FTY.
5 hours in a Seneca 1 is $1335.00. 5 hours of ground prep for the oral is $225 if you need it.
It's at your pace and you pay as you go. If you are ready in 3 hours then that's what you pay.
They set up a date with the local examiner and then you come in 2 days before and do your course.

Depending on where you are.. Action Multi Ratings in Groton, CT offers a 3 day course for the ATP for $2195. It gives you 7 hours and the plane for the checkride and they have an examiner on staff. Ask around, but it has a very good reputation.
