We have at CAL several so called "union" members whose sole purpose is to create disdain and wreck havoc simply because they can. They have or said they have been in union positions in the past but most simply show their hatred of CAL pilots by trying to usurp the majority pilots desires and wants.
What you are seeing here is the effluence left behind from scab waste. These pilots were hired after the scabs, were hired by scabs, and see that as their opportunity to get a step ahead. They are more than disgruntled that they did not get the chance to scab since they were hired after 1983-1984 so they attempt to do the next best thing, which is to create a hostile work environment for those that seek to be true unionists.
Most of these pilots keep to themselves and after being hired by scabs, trained by scabs, and having flown with scabs for most of their careers, want nothing more than the opportunity to do whatever they can to get a step ahead of the rest of the pilot group as most scabs do.
They see any other type of pilot, one that wasn't hired by a scab, as a threat. One for and all for none is their motto. Any attempt by any pilot that doesn't follow this mantra is seen as a threat and will be dealt with as such.
These pilots have from day one tried to keep any form of a solid union from forming at CAL. These are the same pilots that picketed in front of the IACP office when APLA was being voted on, one giving the camera the finger.
These pilots have always seen a unified pilot group as a threat. They attempt to place blame where none is while denying the rest of the pilot group access to the opportunity to decent union representation.
They create animosity among the ranks while trying to drum up support for themselves at the same time by presenting themselves as the only option to a unified union front. They try to show the current elected union pilots as wanting nothing more than to "screw" the entire pilot group, while nothing could be further from the truth.
When other pilots are elected to union rep positions, MEC leader positions, and other various union positions, their sole purpose becomes one of division and confusion as they attempt to conquer and divide since they themselves were not elected to the positions they so richly thought they deserved.
Since they cannot hold any union position, they attempt to subvert any union meeting with useless and pointless questions and subterfuges that do nothing but divert resources to answering said pointless questions. These demented and sad attempts to make themselves appear as heroes do nothing but bog down any and all union process and help these scab wannabees prove their point that any type of union at CAL that doesn't have them or their cronies as leaders, is useless.
When their attempts to diminish the successfulness of union meetings, union mailings and updates, and other union processes doesn't work, they strike out at minority subsets of the entire CAL pilot group. They attempt to point that any minority group that exists is a threat to the pilot group as whole and that group seeks to do nothing but enrich their lives at the expense of others. While this may seem like a good idea, they forget that they are a subset of the CAL pilot group as well.
While this may seem like a good place for a united front, it is nothing more than another attempt to keep both pilot groups from focusing on what we should be focusing on, a jcba and an sli.
Pointing out hiring differences in minority groups of CAL pilot groups does nothing but create more division. This continued attempt to remove the focus of what’s important is the desire of this minority group, which if think about it, is an oxymoron.
As we continue to get closer to a jcba and a unified front, these pilots will become more enraged and stike out at anyone and any pilot group. Their thought is that this will give them the opportunity to be heard. If we allow this, they win.
Are there always going to be those that disagree with the direction of the pilot group, the MEC, or it's leadership? Yes. There should be. Its what gives us the chance to input our desires and wants that may be different than others.
This group has no desire but to create chaos and destruction in order to further their own goals, which is to see themselves rule from a position of power, whether others want them in that postion or not. Anyone that disagrees is a threat.
