Bob Dylan's Legendary Newport Folk Fest Guitar Has Been Found--In A [pilot's] NJ Attic!

When Bob Dylan plugged in and performed his first live set of electric music at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, he divided his fans, nearly destroyed the folk music community, and gave birth to a language-centric form of rock and roll that would change popular music forever. The guitar that caused all the fuss disappeared—and now, PBS' "History Detectives" have discovered that it's been sitting in an attic in New Jersey for the better part of the last 47 years!

A new episode of the PBS show, which airs next Tuesday July 17th, focuses on a few rock and roll mysteries. They discovered that Dylan left the guitar behind in an airplane, and it was taken home by the pilot. The pilot's daughter eventually brought it to them.

SCRThat wasn't at Newport. It was during his European tour.

What a shock of crit. [see what I did there?]

Who knows, perhaps the pilot thought this would be worth a fortune some day. Perhaps he knew that ebay was inevitable so he could actually get away with selling it... More likely the crew asked around and found that the pilots kid was a music fan. This was, remember, back in the day.

I wouldn't be too worried though. This organisation, and I use the term very loosely, has all the hallmarks of a hipster lair. How else would you explain an 'indy' / 'alternative'' media outlet that has a staff like this;

EXECUTIVE EDITOR AND CO-FOUNDER

PUBLISHER AND CO-FOUNDER

TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR

ASSOCIATE PUBLISHER

MANAGING EDITOR. A raging metro-sexual hipster..

SENIOR EDITOR

5 EDITORS

WEATHER [whatever that means?!] (http://gothamist.com/staff.php)

.. And not a single bloody writer, contributor, correspond or journalist. :confused:

The fact that there is: No 'by lines'. No formulated 'contact us' system, despite the fact they have a 'technology director'! No 'about us' page. No 'organisation charter'. No 'terms of use' document and no legal disclaimers speaks volumes about this.. This.. I dunno even know what to call it. The tripe presented woudn't even fly in the cheapest checkout tabloid... Hell its not even good enough to be considered content. I guess this is why there are no copyright notices, my guess is other news outlets have never lifted their work. Die Hipster Skum... :mad:

Hi, my name is Jason, and I have a problem... With hipsters [tm.]. :D

Rant Ends.
