We would be doing you a disservice if we just posted a link and you just sent in a resume. Like a lot of others, I really didn't know what ACMI was all about when first found out about Atlas. I followed this thread religiously and still spent hours emailing/talking to Atlas pilots to make sure I understood as much as I could. Doing the homework was a huge help when I was caught off-guard by the phone interview - honestly I didn't think I was that competitive and wasn't expecting the call. I always enjoyed the spontaneity of corporate flying and the set schedule of the airlines, and for me, this is the perfect combination of the two. I've talked to many of my pilot friends who were interested, but only a few were really jazzed about it and pursued it. The others balked at the long trips, the lack of landings, etc. One guy seemed really pumped until we talked about the imputed income tax, and that was a deal-breaker to him. (It's been a non-issue for me so far) To each his own.
Reading the Hiring thread, I think you'll figure out pretty quickly if it sounds cool to you or if it's not your thing. If it sounds good, keep reading - you'll find tons of advice about every stage of the hiring process and about life out on line. You'll find many of us are more than willing to answer questions if you've done your homework. Good luck!

Atlas has their own planes flying for DHL, some of which are painted in Atlas colours and go by an Atlas call sign, and others of which are painted in Polar colours and go by a Polar call sign. Atlas also operates DHL aircraft, which are painted in DHL colours, and I think (not sure) that they go by an Atlas call sign.
Atlas also flies using a number of other call signs. They also own aircraft that are flown by other airlines. And, they fly a growing number of passenger aircraft.

Not a really good idea these days...they follow the "don't call us, we'll call you" method of recruiting pilots.
Just be patient and keep plugging away at your daily life, and if they want to interview you, they will call...they will even leave messages, and give you a chance to get home from a trip, etc

Good for him. Is he willing to do the MSP-TOL-CVG-TOL-MSP run on the back side of the clock? Are you?
Qualifications may get you the interview, but it won't get you the job. I met cargo/mil/airline guys in my interview group who were, on paper, light-years more qualified than I was, but didn't get an offer.
IMO, attitude is far more important. Be careful you don't come across as bitter, especially over things you'll never control.

Been there done that! Should I put that on my resume......

you have a huge upside. no, not your experience - that they'd only have to pay you for 7 years! I did hear of another geezer (mid-50s) being hired in the last go-round. Good luck!
"Geezer" that's funny....

Did anybody get any calls from Atlas?
I'm childly hopeful even though I realize I'm so low on experience comparing to all you heavy types with oceanic crossings.

Please go to the link above for answers regarding Atlas...I realize the thread is very long but (IMHO) it should be required reading for anyone who is interested in Atlas (or any other ACMI operator).
