Hey guys.. Had a long trip (12 days) and needed to do laundry at 2/3 point. These guys did a good job. Same day service... pickup and delivery in Shanghai (PVG) from the Equatorial or Hilton. Total cost of an entire international bag was $20 US or 130 RMB... I left a tip as well for the delivery. Pick up was at 10AM drop off was at 5PM... Not bad, no hassels. The bell desk took care of everything.

Im all for saving money, but after I found myself drying my whole bag in the back of the plane one day.... I kinda just decided that the "combat" wash in the sink wasn't for me... plus I always smelled like the hotel shampoo.. I would like to find out laundry info for KIX, TPE and CAN if anyone can comment

Just for the record... those aren't my clothes... I don't do laundry in the sink. It was just a jab at my buddy Manny. I send my laundry out like the rest of you... two pieces at a time (as long as you're in Taipei or India).

[FYI, the "Old Hotel" referenced is the Howard, all others reference the Grand Hyatt]
Found a great no-brainer, 24 hour, self-service laundromat just a few blocks from the Grand Hyatt. Directions: Exit through the main exit and turn left. Cross the busy 2 lane facing the Hi-Life and turn right on Jilong rd. Go north to the T junction then turn left on Ren'Ai rd. Go 3 blocks west. Turn left on 452 (at Jenny Max New York) and then go south for 2 blocks. 24H laundry is on the left…corner of 417 and 452. Look here for a short cut. 松壽路 to 24 hr laundry - Google Maps (http://goo.gl/maps/LPMw) The Washing machine costs 50 Taiwanese dollars for the smallest, 70 for medium and 100 TD for the largest and takes 30 minutes. The dryer costs 10 TD for each 6 mins. Dryer took 30 minutes to dry mine. Detergent costs 10 TD. Bring your own coins as the change machine wasn't working. This was super easy. English instructions are written on the machines to aid the domestically challenged. While waiting the 30 minutes for the dryer, there is a “Fresh Brunch” cafe across the street and one block left that has an English brunch menu and serves coffee and tea. 6/4/12
SIX MINUTES FROM THE GRAND HYATT - Exit hotel @ west entrance (near the restaurant) - Cross Keelung Rd @ the light - Proceed straight, between the 7-11 and Hi-Life to the 1st intersection (only about 150') - Turn right Go 1 short block - Turn left after the Temple w/dragon on the roof (Lane 512/419) Go 2.8 blocks to: * JIA-LI-QI LAUNDRY SHOP
NO. 64, Lane 419, Guangfu S. Rd
Hours: Mon-Sat 0800-2200
Cost: 150NT per load - wash, dry, fold
60NT per shirt - wash, dry, iron, fold or hanger
Bonus: without asking, the clean clothes were delivered to the Hyatt concierge at 1700 same day

NEED PLACE NEAR CURRENT HOTEL. THE TWO BELOW ARE BASED ON OLD HOTEL. 05/10
[NEAR OLD HOTEL, CAB RIDE REQUIRED FROM CURRENT] *Chinese Laundry You wouldn't think it would be so hard to find a Chinese Laundry in TPE. But, it is when you can't read Chinese characters on the signs. Well , I did find one only two blocks from the Howard Plaza Hotel. Here are the details.
Exit hotel main entrance(Taxi Stand)
Turn right to corner of Ren Ai Rd and Fushing Rd (Fushing Rd has
the elevated tram running down the middle of the street)
Turn right onto Fushing Rd
Go 1 Block
Turn left onto Tung Feng St
Go 1 Block
Laundry is across street from the 7-11 store and has the phone
number of 7064165 on a sign above the door.
Hours - Mon - Sat 0830 - 2200 Cost - $150 NT per load, cleaned and dried. They dry clean everything.
This is less than the cost of one shirt done by the hotel.
Ironing is extra.
Drop off laundry before 0900 and pick up same day after 1500.
(Packing for a two week trip just got easier)
Address: Tung Feng St

[NEAR OLD HOTEL, CAB RIDE REQUIRED FROM CURRENT] *Green Laundry Chain Turn right on Fushing S.Road. Go one block, turn left onto Dung Feng St. Go 3 1/2 blocks . You will pass a 7-11 on the left and a Circle K on the left. The Green Laundry Chain is 1/2 block past the Circle K on the left. This laundry uses washers and dryers. Cost about $200 NT ($6US). Open until 10 PM. Can get same day service if you get it in before 11 AM.

Shouldn't it be free, just a 39RMB courier charge for Shanghai Hilton guests?

Nice catch... I'll check into that. I was booked at the Hilton, but they actually put us up at the Equatorial that night due to construction. The Equatorial is only 50 yards from the Hilton, and according to their website the service is free for people staying at the Hilton..

Sat night here in Shanghai and I just talked with the concierge. He made a call to SPAwash for me and he was told that they couldn't do anything until Monday morning about 7am. Since we leave at 3am, this does not work. He suggested we call again tomorrow morning.
