I use to joke that my first combat actually occured south of Virginia Beach, VA when they caught two guys shooting at us with shotguns and .22s one night in the landing pattern at NALF Fentriss Field.

Good thing the shooter didn't have a solid understanding of proper lead on a moving target...

It seems like this happens several times a year around the country. Stupid people shouldn't be allowed to breath.

I found a bullet hole in an airliner during a pre-flight once. FBI eventually decided the trajectory showed that it was fired from off the airport while the plane was at the gate.
