I see that Ryan is adding an A330-200 to the fleet.

Any updates on BK exit?

I would hope that Burger King is not parked. Good airplane.

But, at this point, no one seems to know.

(I'll bet 123 gets parked first.)

rumor is that the -200 is replacing the -300 from Virgin?

They parked the 757 about a year ago and I thought one of the non-ETOPS 767s also got parked.

Still hiring dispatchers..... either attrition or maybe small growth. Wonder if there is any chance of a merger with Omni if the DoD flying continues to dwindle.

No rumor, that would be fact. The -300 served it's purpose in getting the type added to our certificate, but it was just too expensive. To bad too, it was a beautiful airplane, amazing entertainment system, loaded flight deck, all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a brand new airplane. Not something we often see in the ACMI world. Management has said they could get 2 older -200's for the cost they were paying for that -300, so we are hopeful that is what they'll do. The -200 is really a better fit for what we do, the range is just so much better and the loads won't be affected that much by the decrease in cabin size. I flew the -300 on it's last revenue trip last week, and fly the -200 on it's first next week. What a difference a week can make!

As for the question on the BK exit, it was just recently made known that a CRO will be installed to lead the company, hopefully into some growth, then followed by timely exit from BK. Finally someone with some real talent and leadership to make some positive changes, very much needed for quite some time.

Cmon guys. You can do better than Jeff Potter.

Vanguard? Frontier? Now Ryan? Stellar track record.

$50k per month??? What a joke.

Did Ryan park a 767?

FlightAware (http://flightaware.com/live/flight/RYN7125)

Not many planes go to MZJ for other reasons....but it's possible.

I left Ryan a few years back and have been out of the loop for a while. Do you have guys still on furlough?
Also, for anyone at the regionals and want to get the hell out, Ryan International was one of the most fun airlines I have ever worked for. The pilot group was absolutely awesome. Management (at least when I was there) was fine. But, a great experience with that group.

I flew for RIA 1996-2000 and it was fun for the most part. Are they still flying? Bankruptcy?

That's it? No more MD80s/A320s/757s? Seriously? I had no idea it was that bad. Best to all of you---I know exactly how it feels.:(

Did Ryan shut down this morning (10JAN)? So sad if true.

Good luck to those still there.

Their Wikipedia page says a shutdown is coming today, but I take everything with a grain of salt on Wikipedia.

Got tipped off this morning about it from a friend; though they never officially said "shut down." Looks like 637TW is going to be on way to RFD right now to join 125RD and the A330 which were flown to RFD last night. Another person said these repos were unexpected, especially since they were all flying contracts.

Such a shame; what a unique company :(

Just got the official letter that Chapter 7 papers are being filed with everyone's last day today and talks are still ongoing with a possible buyer....sad indeed.

What a shame. Ryan was my first and favorite airline. Great memories.
