Whenever, I travel through Arizona, there is a boneyard between Tucson and Phoenix. Again there is another one in California, and to my mind it always looks like the island of misfit toys. It looks like an abandoned airport, in which the planes are waiting for someone to take them up in the air again. It is a little shocking how many planes are out there in the desert.

If that plane rolled out of the factory door today, it would still look years ahead of it's time!

Are you allowed to go inside these planes and take pictures of the interiors?

The good news is that these B-1s are all in flyable storage. Radomes have been removed either for other planes, or to prevent weathering.

To my knowledge, none are slated for scrapping. Same with about 35 B-52Hs there.

Pinal air park in fluctuation and may not be accepting further long term A/C for storage. County suing Evergreen over contract deficiencies. Big discrepancy in what they are paying and true market value.
