Forgive me if this is an old question but does anyone else using this headset configuration experience this? Sometimes if there is a particularly loud noise the ANR function fails for a split second. This results in a loud, momentary noise. It's as if you turned off the ANR function for a split second. I will hear this just as we land or if the cockpit door is slamed too hard.

I thought it was because the battery was running low and actually thought I could use it as a feature as I would know when to replace the batteries. But, I'm unable to confirm it has anything to do with the batteries.

Defective headset?

Mine does the same thing only prior to the battery about to give out... Happens more and more as the battery looses its charge. Replace the batt and should not appear again till you get towards the end of its life

I've had my setup for nearly 6 years now and have only experienced this when the battery is starting to get low. However, I used some really cheap chinese AAA's once that cause the same problem right away. I assume you changed the battery so I suppose as long as you're using one of the reliable brands, it might be a problem with the noise canceling.

Never had this problem, but if you have had the QCs less than a year Bose will replace it for free.... If it is over the warranty they will give you a brand new one for $100.... Did this with my defective QC2's and got the new 15's. They will take care of you.

I'll call but I'm anticipating them giving me a problem if I tell them how I use the headset. I suppose I should just tell them it cuts out with loud noises. Then there's the problem with getting the TSO sticker on the replacement.

Mike,

I just switched to the UFly combo in July and experienced exactly what you described. It seemed to coincide with taxiing over bumps so I thought it was the plane's wiring/spiking, but once I changed the battery the problem was resolved.

Note: even though on the headset I still had a green light (not sure if it was flashing or not, definitely not red)
indicating a good battery, replacing the battery fixed all the cutouts.

Hope this cure helps,
Cubdrick

If you do contact Bose, definitely DO NOT tell them what you use it for! Just say you're a frequent business traveller or something similar. Sorry you're having problems with the setup, mine has been nothing but stellar!

Does anyone have a qc headset or uflymike they are willing to sell?
