Just wondering:

If launched from a HSBY and revised pairing ends in different date and city from original pairing, which backend D/H deviation bank do we keep: the original? the revised? both? or, the higher of the two?

D/H bank is the highest of:

D/H's when trip was assigned to you, D/H's when you blocked out on trip or D/H's on final revision.

Printing out a copy of the pairing after EVERY revision has paid dividends (meaning $$$s) on more than one occasion. ;)

The only pairings you need to copy, are the ones I mentioned above...What the D/Hs were when the pairing was assigned to you, at block out and final revision(as flown). Any other revisions don't count.

So how do you know when the final revision is going to be? I think you meant you only need to save the ones you mentioned.

Huh? The final revision is the one you actually flew(as flown).

Just a joke. I usually copy each pairing change if the HSBY is a result of a schedule change to start with since you could lose disruption pay for an extra duty period if you don't. If it's a scheduled HSBY and you are only worried about the deviation then you are right and it doesn't matter.

Many years ago I was on a trip that on Dec 24th was supposed to end with IND - AUS, dh home. We were revised in IND to go IND- PIA- IND, dh home. Naturally we all deviated in IND because it was Christmas eve and got out of there on any flight possible. When we left ops in IND the pairing showed a revised dh of $2000. After I eventually made it home, the trip was later revised to another dh with only a $600 bank.

So it may not be the one that you thought that you flew.
