Will have a King Air trip Boston to Corpus Christi. Would like a mid-way fuel stop, probably Mississippi (sp) or Louisiana, with easy access to a good airport restaurant, etc.
Don't want to drive 30 minutes away in a courtesy car, etc stuff
Thanks guys !

I was in Lafayette LA (KLFT) last night and New Orleans (KMSY) tonight. The Lousiana Purchase restaurant filled me up with their buffet lunch
Both are good places for stops and lunch.
Chennault (KCWF) has a famous lunch stop right in the FBO.
Enjoy the trip and let us know where you ended up.

Corpus is old hunting grounds for me too. It has been a few months since I've stayed there, but there is a really good seafood place right downtown (Water Street Seafood) and then stop into the Executive Surf Club next door for some after dinner entertainment.

Go to Millionaire in Alexandria, LA. The fuel is not cheap there, but Charlie has a Mercedes E350 and Jaguar you can take to go get some good cajun food. If you are there between 11 and 130pm, the kitchen at the FBO is excellent. You can eat for a buck and walk away full. The peach cobbler is very good.
If you miss the lunch at the FBO, they will sell you a coupon for a dollar and you can drive 5 minutes to a great BBQ place. The coupon is worth 10 bucks so you can fill yourself up. I think the places name was Elly's. Its a little dive place attached to a gas station.

Eddy's BBQ is the name of the place at AEX. Personally I would go to Cajun Landing, 10 minutes away.
If you go to LFT, borrow the car and drive 15 minutes to Prejeans.

I was transporting 3 retired racing Greyhounds (mine) from Jacksonville, FL to Ft. Worth Meacham. Meridian Aviation at Key field in Meridian, Miss. was a fuel stop for us. No tie down or landing fees. Great pilot's lounge complete with free chilli dogs and ice cream. They brought the dogs into the lounge and offered the snacks. I let them have the hot dogs sans chilli since we still had quite a ways left to travel! Great FBO and service.

Greyhounds are the best tempered, easy going dogs there are. Kudos to you for the rescue(s). No chili for the dogs! Wimp :D

Not in a Cherokee 6 with a 4hr leg! It was a great FBO though. They had a few Navy trainers there and the pilots wanted some shots with the dogs so we did that as well. We actually got to see the FBO twice - right after takeoff fuel starts streaming from the left fuel cap. So we come back around and land, point the proverbial finger at each other (spouse and I) "Did you check the cap?" and later determined that "top it off" meant "top it off". Cap was secure but had a leaky seal, causing some of it to stream overboard. Those hounds slept through the whole event including the smell of 100LL in the cabin!
Like Boiler mentions, the field is MEI.

Did you happen to see a grey picture of an F/A-18 Hornet on a wet ramp just across from the desk? I wanted that as my retirement picture, but the photographer doesn't have the negative anymore and wouldn't sell me that one! DRATS!

The 'Flying Saucer' on the Riverwalk - downtown Little Rock is a great stop for lunch or dinner.
Sounds like you already made the trip though. I hope it was a good one.
