Chimjes, The Cave, and Insomnia. All on North bridge road. Also for a great view (but unless you stay in the hotel, a big bar bill) Equinox on top of the Swissotel.
Raffel's Bar,...Birthplace of the "Singapore Sling". Tourist trap, but you gotta go there once. Orchard Road can be interesting,..you can try "the four floors of ...."
fbh
P.S. stay away from the 2nd floor.

Must be the dominant tourist gene in me, but I love Orchard Road and all its stores, people, food and the hustle and bustle. I could walk up and down that street all day long and never tire of it.

Forgot about the ol' "four floors..." We used to stay at the Four Seasons on Orchard, just a few blocks from there. http://www.fourseasons.com/singapore/
Singapore's a great place to have a long layover. Boat Quay, Clark Quay, Chijmes, China Town, Little India, Orchard Road, the Esplanade...all good choices to enjoy Singapore. Taxis are cheap. If you remember your airline ID you'll get a decent discount at all the bars and restaurants at Chijmes. If you're a runner you'll love the Esplanade early in the morning. For dinner one evening you ought to try the Chilli Crab at one of the seafood restaurants that are located along the beach between the city and airport. We are staying at the Pan Pacific Hotel again, it's a nice hotel in a great location. If you want to walk to the Quays or China Town, walk out of the hotel on the 2nd floor, cross the street to the Marina Bay Mall, either go through the mall or pass around it on the left, cross the street and go through to the water. Go to the right along the water and go under the bridge, to the left, under another bridge then cross the river on the pedestrian bridge, turn right and then after passing a large bank you'll be at Boat Quay. Continuing along the river after going under two more bridges and crossing the river again you'll come to Clark Quay. From Clark Quay it's less than 5 minutes to China Town. It's on the street that was the last bridge you crossed prior to Clark Quay, to the left if you're going from Boat Quay to Clark Quay. Is that confusing enough for you?
My wife and I thorougly enjoyed our time in Singapore. As stated already, the Quays are awesome. The Quay area I found to be alot like the Riverwalk in San Antonio, IMO.
Another fun place to eat is Newton's Circus. Just hop on the subway and its a couple of stops from the Raffels Hotel. An open air food court that has great food and lots of people watching. I highley recommend the Tiger Prawns and Tiger Beer with some veggies to boot. Enjoy...........
