Default Y Café in Osaka (500 yen Breakfast)

The cafe Y in KIX has been found after having been closed for many months....still 500 yen for breakfast.....just received the following email about it:

Went to find that wonderful little breakfast bistro in KIX the other day,
first time in a long time, and found a locked up building and no café.
There was a sign on the door, but of course the Japanese Kanji was pretty much indecipherable to this Gaijin.

A kind bystander saw our dilemma and without one word of English, directed us to the new location. The new shop is now on the same street, but on the other side and about two blocks farther along. Go under both underpasses and look for the brown and yellow overhang with a big Y on it. Same nice lady, same great (and too much) food. Yum!

Default Cafe Y

What kind of food is served for breakfast...squirmy/slimy or bacon/eggs? I got almost 80 hours off in Kix in Dec so that would be a good way to kill some time.

The directions to the "old" 500 yen breakfast were to take the Midosuji subway line 4(?) stops north from Namba station under the Swissotel to the Umeda station (where the Yodabashi camera store is).
Walk three blocks north from the Yodabashi store and turn right under the subway rails. This is the same east-west street that the 28-story building that says "PIAS" on the top of it is on. You stayed on the right or south side of the street and walked a block and a half to get to the old location.
Sounds like you need to cross the street and go two more blocks east, to look for the brown and yellow overhang that has the big Y on it, on the north side of the street.
The eggs and bacon are cooked to western, firm standards, the Texas toast is huge, and there's good coffee too. It's the best deal in Japan.

For those unfamiliar with the Café “Y”, it is also known as Coffee Shop “Y” (proper name), The 500 Yen Breakfast Place, and The Toast Lady. Nobody knows who found the place, but the Lady who runs it is big into the “Theater Arts” and there was a NWA 747 model hanging in the corner of a eating area that was no larger than a broom closet…so let your imagination run wild on how this place was found.
She is open Monday thru Saturday, and Hyperone is spot on with the directions and meal description. If you go one additional stop (5 stops, “Nakatsu”) it is closer, and you will come out of the subway behind the PIAS building. Come hungry, because there is a “TON” of food!!! PM me and I can email you a detailed map, as well as her business card in PDF format.

Yea the NWA guys call it the "Toast Lady" (toast is huge)

Leave it to us to assign a value to it "500y Breakfast"

Very good if you can find it.
