Default College Degree and Master Graduate

I am junior in college in which my major is history with a minor in philosophy. I would like to become a commercial airline pilot. I know that I would need to go to flight school after graduate school. But is there any classes I can take that would kind of prepare me for a career in aviation? And can I still become a commercial airline pilot if I have a BA degree in history? I'm still unsure if I would major in history for graduate but if I do, can I still become a pilot? Last, once I complete the typical flight school, what is the process or continue training in becoming a commercial pilot? Thanks.

Of course you can still become an airline pilot with a degree in history or philosophy or scuba diving or basket weaving. Airlines don't typically care what your degree is in, as long as you have one. [If you're applying for a pilot position.]
There are many posts about college degrees - it will be worth your time to do a search and read through them. Bottom line, pick a subject you are interested in and could see yourself pursuing if something should happen and you need a fall back career.

My advice is to focus on your degree first - get good grades. Airlines will look at your grades to determine what kind of student you are. Remember, they have classes and a learning environment too....

While you're in college work on your PPL - do it slowly, when you have time. College first though. When you're ready to pursue the flying gig then interview many flight schools and choose the best fit for you. There are many posts on how to choose a flight school too.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply, your information did helped a lot. I just have one more question to ask you. Not to sound ignorant but what is the PPL that you referred to as something that I can work on while I am still in college?
